We focus on child well-being and growth development through pediatric occupational therapy!

We make therapy fun, playful and driven with purpose.

As a cash-based business, our focus is on the needs of each and every patient. Our pediatric occupational therapy treatment is customized to the needs and to support your child and family’s well-being goal. Whether your child has sensory processing challenges, has been diagnosed with a Tic disorder, or simply struggles to keep up with their peers, Move U is here to help overcome those barriers. Our non-traditional therapy environment is expansive, and the opportunities for play, imagination, and challenges are endless. Sessions are designed for growth, development and overcoming hard activities all while having fun. More often than not, your child will think of this as play time!

Our Expertise

The pediatric occupational therapists therapists at Move U strive to perfect their skillset and stay up to date on the latest education. Kristin averages 47 hours of continuing education per year compared to the required 12 hrs. Below are common behaviors (difficulties, challenges or behaviors) that many children struggle with. At Move U, our therapists are trained and have perfected their techniques to help your child grow and overcome these challenges.

Challenging Behaviors

Struggles to follow directions, avoids everyday tasks, destroys toys and objects, slams doors without noticing, refuses to get dressed, has a hard time sleeping in their bed, poor hygiene, aggressive towards friends and siblings, doesn’t understand personal space or boundaries.

Picky Eating & Food Learning

Exactly as described, the kids who are picky eaters or have sensitivities to food!

Lack of Group Participation

Secludes from others, does not want to engage with fellow friends and strays away from crowds. This child could also prefer to play on their own rather than joining friends or siblings.

Sensory Lifestyle

Think of these as sensory activities that support our alertness levels for the task at hand. Physical activity, mental capacity and family routine are different for everyone. By channeling the alertness level, you can make routines, schedules and activities more enjoyable.

Fine & Gross Motor Skills

Difficulties keeping up with their peers, even when exerting 150% effort.

Internal Safety & Security

Struggles with an internal sense of safety and security. Includes restricted engagement socially or within activities and has a hard time trusting others. Stems from a lack of confidence to step out into new environments.

Emotional Regulation

Think fight, flight or freeze. Fight- excessive physical outbursts, spikes in emotion, or verbal aggression. Flight – withdrawing from behavior, hiding out or avoiding participation. Freeze – completely shut down and secluded from all activity.

Transition Times

Struggles with routine schedule changes. Think of going from an active PE class back to the classroom for English.  The different activities, atmosphere settings, and level of engagement can be hard to adjust to. Real life example – Mom suggesting go from playtime to dinner time. Sudden schedule or activity changes throw off the balance off the child significantly.

Does your child have any of these behaviors or concerns? If so, fill out an appointment request below and one of our team members would be happy to discuss how Move U can help overcome these behaviors.

Our Treatment Space

Treatment rooted in fun, colors and sensory-rich development

Our non-traditional therapy space offers many benefits to our pediatric occupational therapists but more so our clients! Rather than walking into a typical office setting, a child is greeted with bold colors, exciting new activities and opportunities for growth. By overcoming the “doctor’s office” feel, walls are broken down and the development can begin!

This space was designed to capture your child’s excitement and help them throughout every step of their treatment journey.

The opportunities for growth are endless and children will not outgrow this space. No matter what stage of life they are in, our therapists offer expansive treatments with endless resources.
